1940s Girard Perregaux Stainless Steel Military Chronograph UG 283 Movement Men's Wristwatch

Stunning and rare 1940s Girard Perregaux Geneve stainless steel man's chronograph wristwatch in excellent original condition. Interesting watch with "Property Of USMC" engraved on the case back.  Powered by the iconic Universal Geneve Caliber 283 movement.  The stainless steel case has some light minor signs of use but in excellent condition overall. Gorgeous original dial with blue steel hands.  Very nice patina. Excellent crystal and crown (possible replacement). Inside, the high grade 17 jewel hand winding movement is running strong and keeping excellent time although its service history is unknown. Fitted to a new, high quality DeBeer leather strap with steel buckle.

Case measures 32mm wide with 18mm lugs.
